December’s recognized birthstone is the blue topaz. This blue gemstone is also the traditional anniversary gemstone for a couple’s fourth anniversary. This gem has been the official gemstone of the state of Texas since 1969. Blue topaz is a worldwide favorite because of its lovely blue hues and its clear quality.

The topaz gems are not always blue in color, in fact, the natural gems very rarely are. Topaz is naturally found in shades of red, orange, pink, beige, brown and green. This versatile stone is also often found in a clear, colorless state. This colorless gem is then treated with radiation to produce a variety of blue shades in the stone.

The blue topaz is one of the most popular stones in the United States. Even though blue topaz is the most popular color, many people immediately picture a yellow-orange gem when they hear the word topaz.

Blue Topaz has a very nice vibration and also readily accepts subtle vibrations from the outside sources, so it can be programmed with healing frequencies.
