Busting the 10 Myths

Date July 30, 2008

SelfHelpGate is a very nice Personal Development blog that covers all sorts of self-help strategies. Put it on your reading list.

The post linked below covers The 10 Myths That Say, Quite Convincingly, Why Your Dreams Cannot Be Achieved.

And there are all myths. If we’re contantly bumping into walls we’re going to get a headache, but it’s not the wall’s fault. It’s our job to get past that wall.

Or, to put it another way.. if you looked at the Randy Pausch video, in the other post, you may have heard his remark about walls, “The walls are there not to stop you, but to see how much you want something.”

Think about that.

Myth #1: You cannot create wealth if you don’t have education or money to begin with

This is nonsense. First, education is important. You simply need to know what to do. It is far easier to follow a proven path than to figure it out yourself by trial and error. But education can be acquired, no matter who or where you are. Sure, some people may not afford to go to college or even school. But, if you place one foot forward, and then the next, learn one step at a time, you will ALWAYS find the next step.
